October 11th – Tony Blake, author of “Writing for the Hollywood $$$”

After last month’s special celebration to commemorate our 20th anniversary, the CSN Speaker Series resumes on Sunday, October 11th. Tony BlakeOur featured speaker is Tony Blake, author of Writing for the Hollywood $$$: How To Navigate The Rocky Road To Success In TV & Film. Tony is a Los Angeles-based veteran writer/executive producer with 20+ years of experience. Having worked on ten television writing staffs in both drama and comedy, Tony has written and produced over 180 hours of television, sold six pilot scripts and a film noir feature.

Tony will discuss the methods he describes in his book and will then field questions from attendees in an extended Q&A session. For more information on Tony’s book, visit Amazon.com.

Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro has a parking lot for guests two doors south of the restaurant at the SE corner of Lincoln & Byron. Add’l. street parking on Lincoln Ave. is free on Sundays; also, side streets in the area do not require permits for parking.

The doors open at 6:00pm for drinks, dining, and networking; Tony takes the stage following announcements at 7:00pm.

Admission is free of charge for CSN annual membership holders; we request that annual members RSVP via the Eventbrite site using the “CSN annual member RSVP” option so that we have an accurate headcount in advance of the meeting. Memberships can be purchased for $40.00/year at the event check-in table or via the Chicago Screenwriters Network website.
